A 2012 update

I can hardly believe it's been over a year since I last posted. Here's a picture of me and Kavanna on New Years Eve. She's four years old (going on 24) and she's as happy as ever!

It's been quite a year for us - David had his book The Luminist published, to great reviews (see www.davidrocklin.com) and went on a countrywide book tour for most of Fall 2010. Ariel is a senior in high school, going to college in New York this coming Fall. I'm finishing up my doctorate in psychoanalysis this May. Kavanna is loving life, dominating our household and definitely on her way towards total world domination. This is the child who, at the age of two years old, commanded me, "Mommy, put your two hands on the wheel," when I reached for a travel mug of coffee.

Yep, at two years old she was already bossing us around. And naturally, she was right; we should always drive with our two hands on the wheel. :)

Hello! My name is Amy and my husband and I are in the process of adopting our little girl from Yulin SWI in the Guangxi province. I have been searching for other families who've adopted from there and I googled Yulin, Guangxi adoptions and found a blog with Guangxi adoption blogs listed. I found your blog! Our little girl just turned 1 in January and her name is Lin Yong Jie. We also have a blog that you can check out and see that I am not crazy. haha! I am trying to learn more about the Yulin SWI and meet other families who have or who are adopting from there. Kavanna is gorgeous! I am excited to hopefully keep in touch with you.
My blog is http://www.phillisfamilyfulloflove.blogspot.com/
We are documenting our adoption Journey on it. We have decided to name her Meiya Lin Phillis. Meiya means Beautiful Grace in Chinese.
Right now we are about to send our Dossier To China. We have 2 biological children Hannah who is 10 and Hailee who is 8. Both of our girls are very excited to go and get Meiya and bring her home! We all are!
I am so happy I found your blog!
God Bless you and your beautiful family.

Amy
