The only thing you're missing....Kavanna!!

I'm hiring you to organize "me" when I'm off to Russia to get my little girl in a few months. ;)

I'll be the pessimist. Yes, you're missing Kavanna. But you're also missing a nagging sense of dread and impending doom... that one of your documents was not properly notarized and thus won't be acceptable--that the US dollar will tank and you won't have enough crisp new money to pay the orphanage, that Dubya will declare war on China on Oct 28, and that all adoptions will be cancelled indefinitely...
Thats what you're missing.
Or maybe I am projecting.

Paid all your bills for the month or have them on auto-pay. Luggage tags. Plenty of cheerios! Gifts for Nannies & Officials. Red envelopes, red tissue paper and red gift bags. Crisp new bills. Copies of everything in your wallet. List of blogs you want to follow while gone. List of people & email addresses you want to see/meet in China (swap cell phone numbers now).
OK, I guess you weren't really serious and wanted all this stuff!!
Just got carried away....
We look forward to your updates!

Nina, make sure you take plenty of formula! you do not want to run out because you wont want Kavanna drinking the milk here in China. I had to start adding rice cereal that I brought just to get Anya's formula to last. Thank goodness we are homeward bound tomorrow. :) Good luck and have fun!!!

Hi Nina,
Don't forget to do some special something with Ariel (day of beauty and a movie??) and to go have a quiet romantic dinner with your husband!

I double checked ALL my paperwork and put them in an accordion file that had a BIG sign that said, "TAKE THIS TO CHINA" on it. THEN I scotched taped a paper on the garage door that said, "Do you have the file?"

In reality, if you have your 1) Paperwork 2)passports 3)Money 4)tickets you'll do fine. Everything else you can buy or get once you get to China, or do without.

Make a lovely beverage and enjoy it in a quiet house and remember that soon, very soon, you'll be sipping your lovely beverage in between trying to keep your fantastic daughter from doing some sort of crazy antic. Enjoy the anticipation!

Do anything and I do mean anything, for yourself because after Kavanna is front and center, you might not ever sleep again!!

I didn't see cameras on your list. I'm sure it was just an oversight.

Handwipes, a roll of toilet paper (good luck finding tp in the squatty potties), cheerios, and money for a new suitcase in Guangzhou for all your souviniers. :)

Savor your time in China. It will be over before you know it and it is such a sweet time, even with challenges.

That's great that you have everything together!
You mentioned downloading Skype, which is wonderful. If you get a chance to practice with your family before you go that helps. Also if you want to Skype me while you're here we would love it. I know you may be too busy with Kavanna, but if you have a moment and want to say hi please do!

Also, zip lock bags of all sizes, they were so great and let me tell you they don't have the good ones here.
